Almost everybody erroneously believes that sport builds fitness, often overlooking the trail of their own broken bodies and concussed minds in the process. These myths of positive attributes, the lore we maintain for sport, encourages parents to sign their kids into organized programs, rather than permitting children to invent, play, and bend the rules of physical games that they determine for themselves. The lore for sport, and all its socio-positive myths, is so strong that governments encourage, and even pass legislation forcing, youth to play sport in public education.
